The Creator Behind

Hi, I’m Sophie, the creator behind Doodad Studios. I independently run a small, UK-based handmade business specialising in SIY (Sew-It-Yourself) Project Craft Boxes, fabric creations, textile design, seamless designs, fabrics and stationary. Not forgetting my Puddle Penguin™, too!

Doodad Studios began April 20th 2026 after being made redundant as a surface designer - particularly, fabric design, after 5 years with that company. It was very clear to me that this is something I simply had to continue. It enables my creativity and being able to "think outside the box" in the best way! It has allowed me to design some wonderful things that has enabled sewists to create some wonderful things, too!

Naturally, being a textile designer - sewing became a way of life. It felt important to me that  I could carry on this skill, pass my skills on to as many others as I can and create an easy to use collection that creates many new sewists!

I am also the designer and creator of Puddle Penguin™. He and his friends are rather special to me and I cannot wait to show you all the things he (and they) will get upto!

My skills as a surface designer have evolved over time into creating stationary, gift tags, stickers and all the fun things, too!
 

What started as a creative passion has grown into a small business built on care, attention to detail, and love for meaningful handmade work. Every product is made individually, with time and thought put into every step.
 

I take great pride in offering a personal and friendly service, treating every order with the same care I would give my own friends and family.
